July 25, 2010 - Democratic Party heir apparent to the U.S. Senate nomination, Congressman Meek and his supporters claim: Jeff Greene entered this race at the last minute and disclosed his personal finances just hours before they were due. As a result,Meek wants more questions raised about Greene's business interests and that Greene is trying to buy a U.S. Senate seat with the ill-gotten gains made betting against middle class Florida homeowners. Sounds like sour grapes from a guy who has a family history of working the system. LINK

Now that's a campaign bus that money can buy.
The Florida Whig Party approach to political time management:
He who complains, knows how but does not vote and contribute, ignore him.
He who complains but does not know how to vote and contribute, teach him.
He with constructive ideas, who votes and contributes, engage him.
He with constructive ideas, votes, contributes and seeks public office, support him.
He with constructive ideas, votes, contributes, and seeks public office with the conviction and application of Principles over Party, Personality, and Profits, support and follow him.
Think About It
July 22, 2010 - The Republicanization of the Tea party movement continues with the Tea Party Republican Caucus and re-election timed story involving Clifford (Waterboy) Stearns. Mark Williams of the Tea Party Express wrote a racially motivated piece on his blog following in response to the NAACP calling the Tea party a group of racists, the day after the First Lady attends NAACP meeting. An interesting note as to where the chips are falling, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) supports the NAACP resolution.
The Florida Whig Party wonders if and when race and religion will ever be removed from the much needed open and frank discussion of rebuilding economic strength for all Americans, and proposals that include social engineering and religious preference are left off the table.
5th Congressional District Member Ginny Waite-Brown is the picture of bottom feeding, low life, back room political deal makers. Good riddance and get lost; the same goes for Hernando Sheriff Richard Nugent. CLICK HERE.
July 21, 2010 - Rick Scott, the new kid on the Republican block who is hoping to take the Republican nomination for governor away from heir apparent Attorney General Bill McCollum (the good-old-boy shoo-in before Scott jumped into the race), received a warm reception in his first appearance before the Hillsborough County Republican Party. Scott preached a message of tax cuts, limited government and conservative social issues. The packed room gave Scott an enthusiastic response. While the Republican establishment backs McCollum and is tense at the mention of Scott's name, the $23 million spent thus far by Scott is paying off. The anti-career politician theme in 2010 continues to pay heavy dividends. According to the Tampa Tribune: "Dee Williams, president of the Sun City Center Republican Club, said Scott 'seems to have more pizzazz.' She committed to McCollum before Scott jumped in, but said, 'I'm always persuadable.'" From our seat, that's a death blow to McCollum and a small step towards establishing a true third party based on Classical Liberalism, as given to us by our Founding Whigs (Fathers). Small but steady steps is all it takes.
July 19, 2010 - Municipalities across the U.S. will face a projected shortfall of $56 to $86 billion between 2010 and 2012. Watch more cities contracting with Sheriff's Offices for law enforcement. The downside will be increase politics in a sector of government that should be non-political. Internal politics is one thing, external is disgusting. Sheriff's who are political-hacks who involve employees in their campaigns should be thrown out of office. Sheriff's who demote and transfer employees who do not walk the political line should be thrown under the bus by the Department of Justice in Washington. Does Obama's DOJ have what it takes to clean up those who belong in the third world of law enforcement? Not likely but one can HOPE.
Example from the Wall Street Journal: Maywood, a tiny city southeast of Los Angeles, is taking contracting to the extreme. The city of around 40,000 is letting go of its entire staff and contracting with outsiders to perform all city services. The city is disbanding its police force and handing public safety over to the Los Angeles County Sheriff. Its neighbor, the city of Bell, will take over running Maywood's City Hall.

Real or Fake? Union or Nonunion? Paid or Unpaid?
Tuesday, July 16, 2010 Hypocrites come in all shapes and sizes, races, both sexes, and occupations. The Wall Street Journal on July 15, 2010 published a story about the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters. This union is picketing outside an office complex in protest over the work being done by nonunion labor; however, many of the people picketing have been hired by the union to protest in place of union workers. People who are unemployed have been hired at minimum wage, without benefits, or the opportunity to join the union, to protest the worksite. The union claims that parking is difficult for their members and that many members find it difficult to take time from construction jobs to protest. While you would think this is an isolated situation, in California, there is a group protesting the use of form and plastic cups, paying protesters ten dollars an hour to hold signs. One protester is quoted as saying: “I could care less. I am being paid to march around and sound off.”
The next time you see a media report about a protest, ignore the report unless the reporter reports having asked sufficient questions as to the true identity of the protesters.
Hypocrites come in all shapes and sizes, races, both sexes, and occupations, and the reason why our federal, state, and local governments are so out-of-touch with many private sector, net-tax paying Americans.
Tuesday, July 16, 2010 Two months after President Barack Obama authorized 2,500 National Guard troops in Florida to combat the oil disaster, only 100 are being used.
Tuesday, July 16, 2010 Pam Bondi (R) is running for attorney general as a conservative Republican, but for much of her adult life she was a registered Democrat. When asked about the party switch, Bondi said she remained a Democrat in the 1980s and 1990s because Democrats dominated the local political landscape. Is Bondi a political opportunist?

Tuesday, July 16, 2010 After a 10 year career as a customer service representative with the Tampa Police Department, Carolyn Riggins, aunt of alleged police officer killer Dontae Morris, has officially been terminated. The decision to terminate Riggins was made after a pre-disciplinary hearing Tuesday afternoon, where she was found in violation of multiple regulations and policies. “Our investigation has revealed that Carolyn Riggins both withheld pertinent information that could have aided in the suspect’s apprehension and provided information to his associates that interfered with the department’s ability to track down the suspect,” Police Chief Castor said.
